Madhulina is a young Kathak danseuse, who started her talim at the tender age of four in the Lucknow Gharana and grew into a dedicated artiste. She has the privilege of becoming a beloved student of Guru Vidushi Sushmita Banerjee and has been under her tutelage for last 30 years.
Madhulina has won many National dance competitions that include competitions organized by The Akhil Bharatiya Sanskrutik Sangh Pune, Kerala Samajam Durg and Prayag Sangeet Samiti Allahabad.
Madhulina is an avid performer. She is an empanelled artiste of the Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (E.Z.C.C.). She was sent to the Middle East countries to perform with her Guru by the Indian Council For Cultural Relations (I.C.C.R). She has also performed in several National and International Dance Festivals such as Mamallapuram Dance Festival, Jaisalmer Desert Festival, Badri-Kedar Mahotsav in Hardwar, Stree Ratna Festival in Chennai, Meera Mahotsav in Chittorgarh, Bhilwara Festival, Bodh Mahotsav in Bodh Gaya, Pallavotsava in Mysore, Pratibha Utsav in Shantiniketan from E.Z.C.C, Pune Festival, Jhulana Utsav in Konark Natya Mandap, Kumbhalgargh Festival in Rajasthan.
She has also performed for the South Zonal Cultural Centre with her Guru in a tour of four concerts around South India. Madhulina has performed as Sri Ram in her Guru's production on Ramayan in Allahabad on the occasion of Ramnavami.
Madhulina has assisted her Guru and performed in some of her major productions like ABHISAR by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, which was produced by the Ministry of Culture and Human Resources, CHAKRAVYUHA from Mahabharata and her Guru's own choreographic piece PRATIKSHA. She worked with her Guru in a television project for the Doordarshan channel on the occasion of Janmashtami. She had worked under her Guru in the collaborative project with the acclaimed artiste Dr. Annie Nganou from Cameroon which was held at the I.C.C.R and included Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore’s poem AFRICA and Tal Tarang-Rhythmedge, a fusion of Indian and African percussion beats.
Madhulina visits Kerala to conduct workshops and lecture-demonstrations.
Madhulina had been an integral part of the Indian Classical Dance Festival Moksha and the academic sessions organised by her Guru Vidushi Sushmita Banerjee under the aegis of Deshopriyo Kolkata Cultural Centre.
Madhulina has completed her post graduation in Kathak Dance from the esteemed Rabindra Bharati University. She also holds a Diploma in Dance and Movement Therapy from Tata Institute of Social Sciences and Kolkata Sanved and is a certified Dance Movement Therapy practitioner. She is
proficient in Deutsch (German) language beside English, Hindi and Bengali. Presently, she is grooming herself under the guidance of Vidushi Sushmita Banerjee, concentrating on being a danseuse of excellence.
